Practicing self-care, with compassion and love
Today’s guest says “When you talk to yourself the way you would talk to your best friend, you are practicing radical self-care, with compassion and love.”
Joining me today is Kristina Hallett.
Kristina is a practicing Board Certified Clinical Psychologist, Associate Professor of Psychology, Speaker, Executive Coach, Shaman and author of “Own Best Friend: Eight Steps to a Life of Purpose, Passion, and Ease”.
Because Kristina has a professional and academic background in Psychology, she knows the neuroscience and data behind changing the ways we think and respond. But it is her 55 years of experience living as a woman and battling her own inner doubts and demons that makes the “professional” knowledge real.
On today’s show Kristina is going to share:
- Fear and stress are universal experiences, but they don’t have to control our lives.
- How we talk to ourselves (inside our own head) has EVERYTHING to do with how we interact with others, the success we do (or don’t) have, and whether or not we are happy living the life we have.
- We can re-wire our brain to stop comparing and start enjoying life through small, repeatable practices. Bottom line, learning to love ourselves is a process that is simple, not easy.

About Kristina Hallett:
My back story is this: I'm a practicing Board Certified Clinical Psychologist, Associate Professor of Psychology, Speaker, Executive Coach, and Shaman. It's a mouthful, but doesn't define who I am. My book, Own Best Friend: Eight Steps to a Life of Purpose, Passion, and Ease, comes a little closer to describing who I am, what I believe, and what I love to teach other women. Because I have a professional and academic background in Psychology, I know the neuroscience and data behind changing the ways we think and respond. But it is my 55 years of experience living as a woman and battling my own inner doubts and demons that makes the “professional” knowledge real.
