FAQs

Here are some of the Frequently Asked Questions we receive from potential guests. Ensure you read through these questions before contacting us to ensure you know what is expected.

  • What topics are you interested in?

Building a successful business involves a myriad of tasks, so any topic that is focused on small business growth is what we are after. What is important is that you bring your message to our audience in an inspiring, helpful manner so that our listeners are able to increase their knowledge and awareness about your specific business-related topic

  • What technology and/or equipment do you need?

The technology and equipment you will need access to on the day of the interview is:

  • A computer with fast internet connectivity
  • A headset with a microphone (preferably with a mic filter to stop the popping sound). Please ensure that your mic plugs into your computer and is not wireless. Wireless mics tend to distort the sound
  • A quiet setting, preferably with the ability to close the door to minimise echoes.
  • Our shows are also livestreamed so please ensure your location is presentable on camera.

Remember, we want to make you sound as good as possible so it’s important you have access to the right equipment.

  • What is the length of each show?

The show itself runs between 20 to 30 minutes in length, so expect the recording session to go for about 45 minutes. This should give us plenty of content to use for our show and will allow time for questions and other unforeseen things. However, should all go smoothly, it should take no longer than 30 minutes.

  • What’s the best way to prepare for the show?

Prior to our interview, we will send you a guest profile, which you will need to complete and send back to us at least 1 week prior to the recording. This will allow both you and the show host to prepare.

We will also send you a Sound Tips sheet, as well as some additional interview tips and strategies to ensure you are prepared and will sound your best during the interview.

  • Do you have any tips on how I can calm my nerves?

While it is only natural to be a little nervous, imagine you are sitting across the table with one of your dear friends, having a very informal, yet pleasant chat while sharing some of your knowledge and expertise.

Guess what? That’s exactly what you will be doing – having a friendly chat with your host. Practically all of our guests have said how enjoyable they found the interview. After the first few opening sentences and the initial nerves and butterflies disappeared, our guests have forgotten all about being recorded for the show.

Remember, it’s just you and your host speaking over a virtual tea (or coffee – if you are a coffee drinker).

  • Can I promote my business during the show?

Each show is designed for each guest to share their knowledge and wisdom with our listeners. This doesn’t mean that you have to give away all of your trade secrets, however the information you share should be relevant, actionable business building content, and not advertorial in nature.

At the end of the call you will be given the opportunity to draw the audiences’ attention to an upcoming program or product. You can also share the best way for people to get in contact with you. However during the interview we ask that you showcase your expertise (and boost your credibility) by sharing helpful, relevant tips.
