[Ep #112] If you don’t do what you love, you’ll get a lot less done

Topic: If you don’t do what you love, you’ll get a lot less done

My guest today says, “Weaving is a beautiful, complex tangle of knots and fragile threads that form something strong and useful, therefore it is no surprise that it is a great teacher of all life lessons.”

Joining me today is Alexandra Forby.

Alexandra started Daughter Handwovens in 2015. She taught herself to weave about 4 months before starting the business and never looked back. The goal of Alexandra’s business is to encourage women with God’s true vision of femininity. She aims to change the way people think Christians perceive women. (And maybe the way some Christians DO perceive women).

She does this by selling hand woven home goods with subtle colors, beautiful textures and handmade soul. She hopes to fill homes and hearts with beauty, truth, and the message of God’s love.

On today’s show Alexandra is going to share:

  • If you don’t do what you love, you’ll likely get a lot less done.
  • We should always be looking to better our self-growing in our weaknesses and shrinking in our pridefulness.
  • The healthy support of a community can make or break your success and sanity.

About Alexandra Forby:

I started Daughter in 2015 after deciding I didn’t want to work in any of the fields I had experience in. I taught myself to weave about 4 months before starting the business and never looked back. I am still a very small business- essentially a one-woman operation, though I do have interns now and then. The goal of my business is to encourage women with God’s true vision of femininity. I aim to change the way people think Christians perceive women. (And maybe the way some Christians DO perceive women). God calls us beloved, strong, wise, capable, beautiful, necessary, and so much more.

I do this by selling hand woven home goods with subtle colors, beautiful textures and handmade soul. I hope to fill homes and hearts with beauty, truth, and the message of God’s love.
