[Ep#426: Finding Strength and Joy in Challenging Times

Finding Strength and Joy in Challenging Times

After an unexpected 12-month break, I felt led to return to The Christian Entrepreneurs Podcast with a message that’s never been more timely: keeping our joy, strength, and hope steadfast, especially when walking through both personal and global challenges.

In this solo episode, I shared my personal journey supporting my husband through a cancer diagnosis, and reflected on lessons the Lord showed me about perseverance, faith, and finding the true meaning of joy—even in dark times.

Here are 3 key takeaways to encourage you, wherever you are on your entrepreneurial journey:

  • Biblical joy is a spiritual condition, not based on external circumstances. Joy, as a fruit of the Spirit, persists through trials because it’s rooted in our faith and God’s promises.

  • Be intentional about time with God. Immerse yourself in prayer and His Word, especially when overwhelmed by the world’s noise. In His presence, there is fullness of joy.

  • Your trials produce perseverance and equip you to encourage others. Look back at challenges you’ve faced—not just as hardships, but as shaping tools for deeper trust and new callings.

If you find yourself struggling to see purpose in the hard seasons, or to hold onto joy, I encourage you to declare God’s promises over your life daily and stay close to Him. You are not alone on this journey.

Let’s keep lifting one another up and remain strong in faith, hope, and JOY.

KEY SOUND BYTES:

  1. Joy isn’t just an emotion—it's a spiritual condition. Even through trials, biblical joy comes from being in God's presence and knowing His promises endure beyond our circumstances.
  2. Facing challenges? Remember, the joy of the Lord is your strength. Trials can grow perseverance, and with faith, every season holds lessons that shape us for good.
  3. God created our bodies—and our healing can also be found in His creation. Leaning into natural remedies isn’t just an option, it’s part of honoring His design and wisdom.
  4. Rejoicing is a command, not a suggestion. No matter what’s happening in the world, biblical joy is anchored in God’s unchanging character and eternal hope.
  5. Caring for loved ones or navigating uncertainty? Give yourself grace and stay connected with Spirit-filled community. Support and prayer are vital as we walk out faith in challenging times.
