Episode #75: How to start a business blog that generates traffic, leads and sales with Marcus Sheridan

As an ambitious entrepreneur and small business owner I’m sure you’ve been told that one of the best ways to build visibility and credibility in your field is to start a business blog.

If starting a business blog that generates traffic, leads and sales is something you’ve been struggling to achieve, then you’re in for an absolute treat.

Today I’m joined by Marcus Sheridan – who has been leveraging incredible innovations through inbound and content marketing, both in his sales, marketing and personal development blog – The Sales Lion, and for his swimming pool installation company, which is now one of the largest pool installers in the US and the most visited swimming pool website in the world.

Impressive, considering the collapse of the housing market in 2008 threatened the survival of his swimming pool business.

Grab a pen and lots of paper as you’ll want to take down lots of notes about how Marcus was able to achieve this incredible success, including:

• Key strategies to build a business blog that generates traffic, leads and sales
• What you need to do to become the voice and trusted authority of your industry
• Some of the common mistakes people make when it comes to their blog that is negatively impacting their reputation
• and much more!

Now, let me introduce you to our special guest –Marcus Sheridan

In 2001 and fresh out of college, Marcus Sheridan stumbled across his first business with two friends and began installing swimming pools out of the back of a beat-up pickup truck.

9 years later, and with the help of incredible innovations through inbound and content marketing, Marcus’s company overcame the collapse of the housing market and became one of the largest pool installers in the US and currently has the most visited swimming pool website in the world.

With success, in late 2009, Sheridan started his sales/marketing/and personal development blog – The Sales Lion and has since grown The Sales Lion brand to be synonymous with inbound and content marketing excellence.

Today, when Marcus is not giving riveting and passion-filled keynotes around the globe or consulting with brands, he generally finds himself on an adventure with his wife and 4 children.
